Vehicular Mobilization

So I’m in the market for a car, or at least, once the bank gives me access to the money I’ve been gracing it with for the last few days, I’ll be in the market for a car. I feel like a cross between a country bumpkin come to town to buy a new tractor and a y2k survivalist. On one hand, gas is only going to keep getting more expensive, but ooooh, pretty shiny! I’ve been thinking about getting a Honda CR-V, since we’re replacing our ‘big car’ (Irma’s delSol already gets in the 30’s, MPG-wise), the car we use to haul stuff around in, like grills and 2×4’s and gear. I noticed a Ford Freestyle yesterday, though, and suddenly it was all ‘Ooooh, Pretty, me want.’ Too bad they only came out this year and they’re about 3x of my max budget. The nice thing about buying cars on the used market is that after a few years, you start to be able to afford what you really wanted in the first place. The bad thing about buying used cars is that by the time you can afford it, something even niftier has come out.

Very true. You could always buy an Element…then you’d have both space, some fuel economy, and a hipster vehicle. Not sure you want a hipster vehicle, though. I dunno…I test drove an Element, and thought it was a fine car, but it wasn’t quite what I was looking for.
